About the Artist

 

 I am Shrikant Puranik, an accomplished artist with a Master’s degree from the S.N. School of Fine Arts in Hyderabad, currently based in Mumbai. My creative journey encompasses visual arts, theatre in Mumbai, and short filmmaking, with each discipline enriching the others. My experiences have been profoundly influenced by my visits to Anandwan, where I had the honor of meeting Baba Amte. His remarkable blend of action and vision ignited my passion for dreaming of and actively shaping a better world. Baba Amte’s unwavering resilience and deep connections with marginalized communities inspire my work. I am dedicated to expressing our shared humanity through my art, challenging viewers to engage with life's complexities and reflect on their perceptions. His legacy also inspired my interest in poetry and literature, as poetry often serves as a bridge to explore the deeper meanings of existence.
